Nakheel awards AED 810 million contract for marine works at Palm Jebel Ali

Nakheel Awards AED 810 Million Contract to Jan De Nul for Marine Works on Palm Jebel Ali.

Nakheel, part of Dubai Holding Real Estate, has awarded a contract worth AED 810 million to Jan De Nul Dredging LTD, a division of the globally renowned Jan De Nul Group. The contract covers marine works for the Palm Jebel Ali project, including dredging, land reclamation, beach profiling, and sand placement. These efforts will directly support the development of villas across all fronds of the island.

Marine Works Progressing Rapidly Mobilisation activities have already begun, and Jan De Nul Dredging is expected to complete the marine works in just over two years. Notably, the first eight fronds of the project are expected to be site-ready by the first quarter of 2025, enabling the start of villa infrastructure and civil works. This significant progress comes after Nakheel recently awarded two major infrastructure contracts, with work already in motion on the construction of a new public access road connecting Palm Jebel Ali to Sheikh Zayed Road, as well as enhancements to roadways and lighting from the mainland to the island.

A Transformational Development for Dubai Palm Jebel Ali, unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will offer an extraordinary array of luxury lifestyle amenities for residents, families, and visitors. The development supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and marks the beginning of a new growth corridor in the Jebel Ali area, highlighting the emirate’s ongoing expansion.

Commitment to Excellence and Innovation Khalid Al Malik, CEO of Dubai Holding Real Estate, emphasized the importance of partnering with Jan De Nul Dredging, stating: “This collaboration reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation. Jan De Nul’s expertise in marine, civil construction, and environmental projects is crucial as we accelerate progress on this transformative development. Aligned with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, Palm Jebel Ali will become a global destination offering residents a luxurious waterfront lifestyle with access to pristine beaches, setting new benchmarks in quality living and sustainability.”

Phase 1 Frond Villas and Future Vision Last year, Palm Jebel Ali launched over 700 units of Phase 1 frond villas, offering eight distinct styles that seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor living in a peaceful coastal setting. The ongoing infrastructure and marine works will directly support the timely delivery of these homes, which are scheduled for handover by late 2026. Once completed, Palm Jebel Ali will span 13.4 kilometers, with 16 fronds and 91 kilometers of beachfront, in line with Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan, which aims to expand public beach access.

Nakheel’s projects, including Palm Jebel Ali, play a critical role in realizing Dubai’s vision of becoming a global leader in luxury living, sustainability, and innovation.
